Microsoft’s aggressive strategy with Windows 10, which has seen its share of criticism, is also driving the Windows 10 market share numbers. Announcing their prospective virtual partnership earlier today, Microsoft stated that Cortana in Windows 10 will be able to assist Windows 10 users in scheduling meetings, setting reminders about their schedule on LinkedIn. Windows 7 is running on 52.57% of PCs worldwide right now, suggesting that more than one in two people still use the OS version launched way back in 2009.

On the whole, Windows lost a bit of share in August, down 0.30 points to 90.54 percent.
