Security guard shot to death at office tower in Atlanta’s Buckhead business

The Atlanta Police Department is investigating a deadly shooting that took place early Thursday morning in Buckhead’s Tower Place complex.

Hampton says there are security cameras in the building, but it’s not known if those cameras caught the shooting on surveillance footage. “We’re not sure what the motive was”.

CBS 46 reports that the shooting happened shortly before 5 a.m. Thursday on Peachtree Road near Wieucu Road. “We’ve been told there may be a few type of verbal argument that escalated into gunfire”.

Police do not have any suspects in custody.

Local news media report that Atlanta police spokeswoman Kim Jones says 26-year-old Dexter Harper has been charged with murder in the death of 23-year-old Emmanuel C. Nwankwo. He’s being held in the Fulton County Jail.

The investigation is ongoing.
