Sony Xperia Z5 Is World’s Best Camera Phone, Experts Say
It follows the high standards for mobile camera sensors of the Sony Xperia line – always known for having good cameras and taking great pics and videos.
Last month saw Sony Mobile introduce its latest smartphone, the Xperia Z5 Premium, at the IFA Consumer Electronics Show in Berlin, Germany. It appears the answer is a resounding “yes”.
Xperia Z5 has also outclassed the newly-announced Google Nexus 6P, which has to settle for third place.
DxOMark praises the low-light performance of Nexus 6P, touting its detail preservation as “the best tested to date”. They only got 82. The iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus have not been tested yet by the site yet. Even though it edged out the Galaxy S6 edge, both scored an 88 on the photo side, with the Xperia Z5 scoring higher on the video tests for a higher average score. The 23MP camera, which produces 8MP stills by default, has the best autofocus in all conditions, very good white balance and color rendering in most situations, good flash exposures, and good details and “thin noise” in low light.
If you’ve been looking for the flawless camera phone to take with you in your travels and have nothing against Android, then Sony Xperia Z5 is the best option, at least for the moment.
The review also mentioned the Nexus 6P’s laser autofocus is not only fast, but it’s accurate too.
When it comes to video, the Xperia Z5 blows the competition out of the water when it came to stabilization, providing excellent shake reduction more than any in the market today.
Obviously, the phone’s camera has a few cons as well, such as artifacts being visible with blue sky saturation and the fact that using flash will produce a slight attenuation that will be visible in the corners. It seems they weren’t lying.
