NBC’s “Blindspot” Falls, Still Claims #1 in Timeslot
Google said Friday’ the most searched query about fall premieres over the past week was about, when Fox’s “Empire” would return.
And finally, new episodes of “60 Minutes” (9.167 million viewers, #9; adults 18-49: 1.1, #18), “Madam Secretary” (12.658 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 1.4, #T14), “The Good Wife” (11.195 million viewers, #6; adults 18-49: 1.3, #17) and the return of “CSI: Crime Scene Investigation” (9.661 million viewers, #7; adults 18-49: 1.4, #T14) on CBS (10.670 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 1.3, #4) closed out the night.
According to data received from several sources, “Empire” is the third most-watched television show after “The Big Bang Theory” and “NCIS”. And NBC’s Heroes Reborn averaged 6.1 million Thursday (climbing to 8.7 million by Sunday), matching the franchise’s last premiere in 2009.
Other shows occupy a middle ground: ABC’s Quantico claimed 7.1 million viewers Sunday, which looks impressive only when compared to Revenge, which it replaced. The thriller has the benefit of the network’s best time slot, behind The Voice on Mondays.
Family Guy dropped 21% at 9 pm on Fox, interesting 1.5 (2.89m).
For the night, CBS added +2.72m viewers (10.79m from 8.07m, +34%), +0.9 in adults 25-54 (2.6 from 1.7, +53%) and +0.7 in adults 18-49 (1.8 from 1.2, +50%), moving ahead of ABC in both demos while remaining first in viewers.
NBC led into “Blindspot” with “The Voice” (8.0 overnight household rating from 8-10PM).
Opposite it from 10-11 p.m. Monday, the CBS drama “NCIS: Los Angeles” averaged 7.66 million, and the ABC mystery “Castle” 6.7 million.
And in its second week, new half-hour “Life in Pieces” (2.0/6 in 18-49, 8.9 million viewers overall) slid 23% (0.6) from its OK premiere and placed second among the Big Four in the demo at 8:30.
