George RR Martin denies rumours HBO is planning to make film
Meanwhile, if I may be so bold as to disagree with a genius, I for one am not so sure the best way to end “Game of Thrones” is on the big screen.
His denial follows a report in the Daily Star Sunday, which said Martin spilled the beans on blockbuster plans at an Emmy Awards afterparty last week. – GRRM says the notion of doing a Game Of Thrones movie has been floated around for three or four years and wasn’t his idea. Weiss were taking authority over the film because he had “too much to do”.
“That is something HBO and DB [Weiss] and David [Benioff] are dealing with” he apparently went on to say. Martin also pays tribute to the books that helped him find his own passion, and the many space adventures that shaped his imagination as a science-fiction geek growing up in New Jersey. “The pressure is on”. “But nothing has changed”, Martin wrote on his Not A Blog web page on Wednesday.
If you are a fan of “Game of Thrones” and were expecting a film on the popular TV series, the night is dark and full of disappointments.
The battle for “Game of Thrones'” Iron Throne will continue on television, not in the movie theater.
A few have been reporting the prequel story for the movie with Robert’s Rebellion being the major plot if the movie were to ever be released.
“Yes, I said ‘coloring book.’ Not just for the kiddies either”, Martin writes.
“Game of Thrones” is filming the sixth season of the TV series.
Sadly, it seems these quotes were either false or taken out of context, and Martin has expressed his annoyance at being “bombarded” with questions from fans. And in a few of these stories, once again, this idea is wrongly attributed to me.
The Huffington Post contacted Martin’s assistant, who said the comments made by Martin in the Daily Star article were “not direct quotes”.
Because of its undeniable appeal to the small screen audience, entertainment outlets would report whatever is new about HBO’s epic historical drama “Game of Thrones“.
