HTC Android Marshmallow device to launch 20 October
As soon as Google’s morning event wrapped up, an email hit our inbox, claiming HTC is going to unwrap a brand new, Marshmallow-powered One device on October 20 via a “virtual event”. Read on for more details.
The update for HTC One M7 would eventually be lined up, but it will not make it into the first list. The company will start pushing the new OS update by the end of this year.
Canadian carrier Rogers is among the first to release a minor update a few days ago specifically to the original Moto X 2013 in its lineup that already includes a fix on Stagefright. Based on the leaked photos, the HTC One A9 will come in hues of cast iron, carbon gray, rose gold, opal silver, deep garnet, and acid gold.
Particularly in case of HTC, users have been a little dissatisfied by the way things are turning out for them and the way the updates to their devices are getting delayed. Everything from the lockscreen, homescreen, notification bar, volume and permission controls, native fingerprint scanner support, Android Pay, better performance or battery life and tons of other small changes or security patches.
Struggling smartphone giant HTC looks like it has a potentially skin-saving new device up its sleeve, which it plans to reveal next month.
On the software side, the Sense UI has always been a very good customization of the Android operating system. A new leak shows the preliminary list of smartphones earmarked by HTC to receive Marshmallow update.
A number of Samsung Galaxy smartphones are also speculated to be up for the upgrade, including the Galaxy S5 and S6, and the Galaxy Note 4 and Note 5, which are set to receive Android 6.0 Marshmallow early next year.
