Humble Bundle now offers monthly indie game subscription
The folks over at Humble Bundle have launched Humble Monthly, a subscription service that will unlock new PC games every single month for $12. The game titles will remain hidden until delivered.
Not unlike the way LootCrate operates with physical merchandise, you can subscribe for $12 per month and receive a collection of “specially curated” games on the first Friday of each month. That all depends on the games you’re getting, and Humble Bundle promises it’ll be “on par with the type of premium content that Humble Bundle is known for, but with even more added value”. It takes away the savvy feeling of putting together your own traditional Humble Bundle to include everything you actually want. Joining now gets you the contents of the bundle alongside a copy of Legend of Grimrock 2.
You can find out more information on the subscription service through the link. The subscription can be cancelled anytime and all games received during that time can be download again from your Humble Bundle account. And as usual, money is being donated to charities: 5 percent of the Humble Monthly proceeds (less taxes and other fees) will go to the PayPal Giving Fund, which is then given direction to pass those funds on to the charity chosen by Humble for that month. But, in doing so, it does all the legwork for you and you may end up with games that have no appeal to you. This service doesn’t seem to be replacing the regular Humble Bundles, so expect new ones of those every week as usual. The company also hosts bundles for mobile games and ebooks, along with their digital store, the Humble Store, selling downloadable games individually.
