Five-month-old girl killed in drive-by shooting
In Cleveland, police say an infant was shot and killed in a drive-by shooting.
Police said the shooting happened near East 143rd Street and Kinsman Road when someone opened fire into a vehicle. The baby was rushed to Rainbow Babies and Children’s Hospital, where she died. SWAT went inside the building in search of a suspect but no one was found inside.
Police said they do not have a shooter(s) description at this point in their investigation.
According to local reports, the baby was struck in a drive-by shooting and officals say the shots came from a nearby apartment building.
Police Chief Calvin Williams and Mayor Frank Jackson visited the scene Thursday evening. A 3-year-old boy and a 5-year-old boy were killed in September.
“My guys have been instructed to stay on this for as long as it takes”.
“Enough is enough. When are we going to stop counting babies being killed out there on the streets”.
