Skype 6.3 for iPhone and iPad Released with iOS 9 Support
This makes it possible to use Skype right along any other app installed on the iOS device, for browsing the web while talking to one’s friends and family or for planning a night out.
There’s also landscape support on the iPad and iPhone, new statistics and an Activity View, the option to view in columns on the iPhone 6 Plus and the iPad, split-view multitasking support, mute filters, a brand new user interface and more. You can download Skype from the App Store for free.
Tablet sales aren’t what they used to be, and Apple is feeling the pinch.
Skype is the most recent in a line of applications to present backing for Apple’s iOS 9, and the Microsoft-claimed stage now has a modest bunch of additional helpful elements to brag about.
The first update by the company came on Wednesday with Skype 7.13 for Mac, which brought about full support for OS X 10.11 El Capitan. Whether Split View by itself will be enough of a lure to coax people to buy a new iPad is the question. Slide Over allows a second app to slide out from one side of the screen, allowing quick a brief interaction before returning the primary open app. Slide Over works with the iPad Mini 2 and later Mini models, the iPad Air and later Air models and the new iPad Pro. In the latter functionality, simply search for a contact and if they’re in your Skype address book, you’ll be able to head straight into chat with a simple tap.
Tweetbot 4 for iOS is now out, and shows why it can be trusted: The product continues to mature and deepen, incorporating a lot of small, welcome changes and building in new features made available by Twitter, as well as adding a few large ones.
