Lena Dunham says ‘Girls’ will probably end after 6 seasons
“It started in 1992, when Lena wrote her third-grade term paper on Hillary’s controversial “tea and cookies” comments”, Dunham and co-founder Jenni Konner note in the introduction to the issue. For example, after 9/11, we got really anxious to make sure we had homeland security everywhere. I want to just compress those.
Lena also gave a few heartbreaking examples of the kind of body-shaming troll tweets that she was dealing with, like “someone saying ‘Lena Dunham’s the fattest whore in town.'” CRINGE. And so, when I graduated from college, I had made the decision I was going to go to law school …
Prior to the Clinton interview, the site previewed a short story written by Dunham and a piece in which various women discuss getting abortions before Roe v. Wade. Just as routinely, Democrats, specifically feminists, complain that the Right thinks the young are only interested in sex and fashion. “We drove all the way up to Alaska, went up the then-unpaved Alcan Highway, and we took odd jobs”.
If this sounds like fare you might read in many women’s magazines, Dunham wants to make clear that Lenny is trying to avoid thinking of her readers as a monolith audience.
The HBO hit comedy series centers around a group of young women as they navigate through many common issues young people face and Dunham drew on her own personal experiences for the main character Hannah Horvath. That frees up the emotional space for the only people that matter – the ones that love and care about you completely.
Really, that is what’s on display in the Dunham-Clinton interview. She says Season 6 is still probably the HBO show’s last hurrah. Even Clinton seemed embarassed, admitting that she’s “hardly a fashion icon”. “So, I don’t have to be stressed about it. I’ve never even thought about it once”, she said.
Yeah, maybe. But it’s taxpayers who subsidize the loans and the repayment schedules, so all of these reforms essentially put taxpayers on the hook for more interest so that students can indiscriminately spend more money on college.
It all got to be just a little too much.

CLINTON: Oh my gosh!
“I wore it for one of our first big events at the White House in 1993”. The Girls creator and now publisher, her ezine Lenny Letter launched yesterday, was speaking to Kara Swisher on the Re/code Decode podcast when she revealed that so intense was the negativity she no longer physically tweets, and has someone else send out messages for her. She compared all the social media attention to something “cancerous”.
