It’s unclear whether Bure’s comments will ever be addressed by the panel, but according to The View’s Twitter, she’s coming to today’s show armed with a hot topic.
“The minute you put yourself out there, in somebody’s underwear… you can’t be surprised”, moderator Whoopi Goldberg suggested. “[But] they come hard at people”, panelist Raven-Symoné, 29, added. “That’s what they do to me on Twitter”, she explained.
Bure, who is a devout Christian, shared that she has been the target of similar social media attacks and compared Internet trolling to being raped. “You know what’s on Twitter”. How many times must we stress that people should be able to wear whatever they want without being criticized for it?
Bure has not yet publicly addressed the hubbub over her controversial comments, and did not appear on Thursday’s episode of “The View”.
The actress recently posted on Facebook that she asked for “prayers” to help her get through her first days on the outspoken daytime talk show. “It’s incredibly disheartening to read”.
A few Twitter users did not take kindly to Bure’s remarks and blasted her on the social media site.
During a conversation about Lena Dunham saying she was the victim of “verbal violence” on Twitter after posting an underwear selfie online, the “Full House” alum spoke out about her own experience with online trolls.
