Manhunt underway for Chaska shooter
Police said the shooting victims knew Gilpin.
Law enforcement are on the lookout for a gunman who shot two people in Chaska.
According to Chaska police, the alleged shooter is 38-year-old Joshua Gilpin.
Officers arrived at the home around 9:30 p.m.to find the 60-year-old father down in the front yard with multiple wounds and the 29-year-old ex-girlfriend inside the home with a neck wound.
Gilpin was said to have left the scene on foot. In an update at 8 a.m., the district said that police had informed it that “there is no longer a concern downtown and at no time” were the schools in any danger.
As the Chaska Police Department investigated, police learned Gilpin was potentially inside of a house in Jordan. “Gilpin was not found, and he remains at large”.
Jordan is about 10 miles south of where the shooting is said to have occurred. Chaska police and SWAT team members were searching in Jordan early Friday.
As a precautionary measure, all schools in Eastern Carver County are in lockdown with warning until further notice Friday. That means no outdoor activities, and all doors are locked and monitored. The school day will go on as normal inside the building. He is a white, 5-foot-11 about 200 hundred pounds and was believed to be on foot. He has brown eyes and brown hair.
