Tonight’s Nationals-Mets game postponed to Saturday as part of day-night
The Washington Nationals will have to wait one more day to begin their series against the New York Mets at Citi Field. Even though the Nationals have nothing to play for, the Mets are still trying to lock up home field for their upcoming NLDS matchup against the Los Angeles Dodgers that is scheduled to begin on Friday. The Nationals picked up a 3-0 win at Turner Field on Thursday behind a dominant Stephen Strasburg. The Nats mustered six hits with Bryce Harper singling in Wilmer Difo while Clint Robinson went solo.
Gonzalez (11-8, 3.93) is looking to wrap up the year with another strong outing against the Mets.
The teams will play a separate-admission doubleheader at 1 and 7 p.m. on Saturday, the Mets announced.
– The Tigers have failed to reach the total in seven of their last eight home games, and seven straight versus an opponent with a winning record. The Mets just didn’t play with any fire in a 3-0 loss at Philadelphia and that probably has something to do with wrapping up the division and concentrating on the playoffs. He’s 6-1 with a 1.68 ERA in his last 10 starts in Queens and is 3-0 with a 1.09 ERA and 31 strikeouts in 24 2/3 innings during his last four overall meetings with New York. Max Scherzer will pitch against Matt Harvey Saturday night, as scheduled.
