Why 37000 Ford F-150 Owners Got Recall Notices
Ford said that there were already accidents reported with the recalled Windstar minivans, according to The Guardian.
About 340,000 units have been recalled for rear axle inspection for a potential issue with a previous safety recall fix.
The production as well as the sales of the new F-150 pickups by Ford Motor Co.
Ford claims that chicken passing a big, very reflective vehicle, the flexible trip control radar in a few of these cars might inaccurately determine the vehicle as being in the F-150 street of traveling when it is not.
While a driver is trying to figure out why the F-150 is braking on its own, the collision warning system will activate with red warning lights and sounds. Faulty bolts attaching the shift lever to the transmission could cause the vehicle to come out of gear.
Ford says it has a report of one crash caused by the problem but no injuries. This may then become a problem in the future because it might be that there would be much more to recall later or more damage in the future. Ford knows of several accidents linked to the problem, but no injuries. Dealers will replace the shift control bracket to fix the problem. Ford stated they believe the re-manufactured transmission in the models from 2001 to 2008 have a defect. Starting with the newest vehicles, the 2016 Fusion and Lincoln MKZ have been outfitted with fuel tanks that are prone to crack in a crash.
The automaker says all the recalled vehicles were built in Chicago on July 24, 2015.
Next, the blue oval is recalling the 2016 F-53 and F-59 stripped chassis vehicles, in a total of 1,477 examples.
Ford is aware of no accidents, injuries or fires related to the issue. In these vehicles, the fuel tank might not have been manufactured properly and could crack in a crash, which is a compliance issue with FMVSS 301 regarding fuel system integrity.
Similarly the Ford Taurus, Lincoln MKS and Ford Explorer have also been recalled. Only 708 North American vehicles are affected by the problem, which violates federal safety regulations. The vehicle affected are in the United States (658), Canada (28) and Mexico (22).
Dealers will replace the fuel tank at no cost to the customer.
