Isaiah McKenzie will not face felony charges
Georgia sophomore receiver Isaiah McKenzie is being investigated by Athens-Clarke County police for following a confrontation that took place at a local restaurant.
According to the Macon Telegraph, a spokesperson of the Athens-Clarke County Police Department said the “victim declined to prosecute so the case is closed.”
On Monday evening, a female Georgia student accused McKenzie of making “terroristic threats or acts”, according to Taylor Denman of Georgia’s student newspaper, the Red & Black.
On Monday night a woman told police that McKenzie had made what were categorized as terroristic threats. It remains unclear if he will face any disciplinary action from the team.
Witnesses at the scene, included in the incident report, were Georgia players Dominick Sanders, Terry Godwin, D’Andre Walker and Jarvis Wilson. Presently no charges have been filed against McKenzie.
School officials are aware of the incident but haven’t commented. He’s also the top punt returner with a 77-yard touchdown at Vanderbilt among his 8 attempts averaging 14.5 a try.
McKenzie is the Bulldogs’ fourth-leading receiver with five catches for 64 yards.
After new of the allegations broke, McKenzie was spotted at practice playing with the first string offense.
