Humble Bundle Announces Monthly Bundle
It’s unclear what the breakdown will be between Humble’s cut and that of developers; Humble Bundles typically allow you to decide the amount split between the two.The store outlined what subscribers would receive for their money, telling IGN that you will get an average of six games a month.
If you paid to subscribe before that cut-off time you get that bundle, otherwise you’ve missed that particular offer and will be receiving the next bundle. This service doesn’t seem to be replacing the regular Humble Bundles, so expect new ones of those every week as usual. You don’t get to choose what games are made available, but it’s suggested that a lot of them will be games that haven’t featured in Humble Bundles in the past.
“The goal of the Humble Monthly is to present an offering of games to our audience that we normally wouldn’t be able to deliver to them”, said Robert Bowling, VP and Creative Director at Humble Bundle. Today, the company announced that it is introducing a monthly bundle, a subscription service for just $12 per month. All games in the bundle will be unknown until the moment they’re released.
Another perk: 5% of the cost of the subscription will be donated to charity. The website notes the bundles will be a mix of old and new games by saying, “Includes everything from recent hits to hidden gems to timeless classics”. Launched one year ago, the second installment in this dungeon crawling series has a current online price of via Steam, which means at the very least you’re getting one good game at half price.
You know, I liked the idea of the Loot Crate or other fun subscription services that bring nice things to my front door.
