Two-week timetable set for Derrick Rose’s return

Rose had surgery to fix a left orbital fracture Wednesday, one day after he was elbowed in the face by one of his teammates during practice. A timetable for Rose’s return to the Bulls will be determined after the operation.

He missed all of the 2012-13 season after tearing his left ACL during the first round of the 2012 playoffs, and played only 10 games two years ago after tearing the meniscus in his right knee.

This is promising news for Rose, who has suffered through serious injuries the past few seasons. We don’t know how much he’ll be able to do while he’s in recovery mode.

I’m not sure what’s going to happen with Derrick Rose, but I do know that the Bulls’ championship window just got a little bit smaller with this recent news concerning their mercurial, high salary point guard.

Aaron Brooks, Kirk Hinrich and E’Twaun Moore will be asked to handle bigger roles if Rose misses any regular-season games. “Hopefully it’s an injury that won’t keep him out too long”.
