Galaxy S7 with Snapdragon 820 to target USA and China
A Samsung spokeswoman said the firm does not comment on rumors or speculation.
Last month a report out of Korea claimed Samsung could pack the Galaxy S7 with a pair of cameras in back.
The screen of the Galaxy Tab S2 is completely usable outdoors, even under direct sunlight, visibility remains the same and unaffected. The news report does indicate that a few of the Samsung Galaxy S7 will be supplied the new Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 SoC. That poor performance led Samsung to go with its own Exynos in the S6 helping profitability and market share for that chip. At the time it was believed that Samsung would incorporate the new tech into its 2016 Galaxy S7 flagship smartphone, but now sources say that this will actually happen after the device is released, and Sammy will use it in the handsets that will follow the S7.
However, whatever the issue was with Snapdragon, Qualcomm has apparently now fixed it, because the Snapdragon 820 will be on board the Galaxy S7, according to the Electronic Times (via a Reuters report).
The chip is built with a 14 nm FinFET manufacturing process. The loss of a big client – and the Snapdragon 810 overheating PR disaster that followed – left Qualcomm bruised out.
Under the hood, the tablet will come powered by the company’s own Exynos 7 chipset, in combination with an octa-core processor, running at a maximum speed of 1.6 GHz. However, the possibility of seeing it in the upcoming Galaxy S7 seemed to be already ruled out.
