Live stream your games from Your Sony phone to YouTube
Sony’s new MXTP security feature can break unlocked Xperia devices in an unrecoverable way. The firm says that, “After unlocking your device, you should not enable My Xperia (found in the settings menu under security on some devices running Android 5.0) as this might cause the device to malfunction”. In other words, this will not let a thief to flash a new ROM without knowing your Google login or just cleaning your device. Disabling MXTP should allow users to unlock the bootloader again. MXTP interferes with this, as enabling this security feature will automatically eliminate the ability to unlock the bootloader.
The app has the ability to capture and stream via YouTube anything that a user chooses to do on his or her handset, and therefore Sony advises caution.
The functionality will also be available on the company’s Z4 tablet. The feature then tries to block unlocking of the bootloader and this causes a malfunction on the device possibly bricking it.
Sony is now aware of this issue and has posted warnings on its bootloader unlock website, but no warning exists on the device itself. The site adds, “In addition, if you have enabled My Xperia, this function must be turned off before you can unlock your device”.
