GOP’s Fiorina shows off lighter side on ‘The Tonight Show’
She’s great at connecting emotionally with the pro-life base in the party.
Fiorina is about to get Bained.
How fully she exploited said opportunities can be measured on the Trump-outburst barometer. She’s never passed a piece of legislation that actually creates losers in its wake, or has unexpected consequences. “I surmise that is wrong”, she said. And she has facts. But, as Bloomberg View’s Justin Foxnotes, “that was mainly because she made a huge and controversial acquisition”.
This was apparent in their exchange in answer to a question about Russian Federation President Vladimir Putin’s decision to deploy troops and tanks into Syria, to save dictator Bashar Assad, a move that caught the US totally by surprise. Dell Computer’s Michael Dell called it the “dumbest deal of the decade”.
So many news outlets used “steely” in writing about Fiorina that one might reasonably ask if there’s a herd mentality in political reporting.
It didn’t end there.
“With a debate performance that was steely and at times deeply personal…” Then without a pause, she delivered the punch, the stump crescendo. Fiorina’s response wasn’t exactly steely.
The truth is, her HP tenure was rocky. “I think the Republicans would have a very rough time if she was on the ticket”.
Fiorina seemed at a loss for how to defend herself.
“I would describe him as a formidable adversary”.
An American television institution for nearly 60 years, “The Tonight Show” continues to be a home to big-name celebrity guests and a stage for top musical and comedic talent. Sonnenfeld is a longtime critic of Fiorina’s performance as CEO of Hewlett-Packard.
“What happens If you let your teenager do bad stuff over and over again, what do they do?” Let them fight each other and pick up the remnants. He added that her predilection for repeating sentences is nearly “robotic”. However, her lead is within the error margin range. Of course, the GOP presidential candidate couldn’t pass up the opportunity to take another swipe at fellow candidate Donald Trump.
“Yes, we had to make tough choices”, she said. Still, he said, claiming it as growth is “disingenuous”.
Meanwhile, Fiorina had shot up to 15%, ahead of Carson and good for second place overall.
“I don’t think we should entrust governing our society to five unelected lawyers…”
Fiorina is now even ahead of neurosurgeon Ben Carson who is at 14 percent. Fiorina’s rise coincides with the first signs of Trump’s decline.
Fiorina is, understandably, feeling optimistic.
“California has the highest poverty rates in the nation under Barbara Boxer’s policies”, said Fiorina spokeswoman Sarah Isgur Flores in a statement.
Support for Donald Trump has slipped by 8 percentage points since Wednesday’s second Republican presidential debate.
When it comes to favorability though, the results are quite different.
Sides told me that “Fiorina is a textbook case of discovery”.
Over the last few months, there has been a change in the received wisdom about Trump’s candidacy. Yes, there have been two debates and Rick Perry and Scott Walker have already dropped out. However, Trump is still ahead of all other candidates being 17 percent “most presidential“.
Sanders waded through his at-times uneasy relationship with the black community and his self-declared socialism in a humorous segment with Larry Wilmore on “The Nightly Show” that also aired Monday night. He’ll deep into his war chest every now and then to help the more stubborn ones along their path to oblivion with a well placed negative ad or two thousand. Just about as many Republicans viewers disapproved of the CNN moderators as approved of the way they did their job. “My name’s Snick and you’re gonna have to carry me”. But that’s like asking whether candidates say stuff that’s not always true. It’s fair to go after Carly for hers.
It’s going to be Jeb. “We give presidents of the United States an enormous amount of power and whoever wins that office should be thoroughly tested”. “I will run on that track record all day long”. 1 and 2 in the polls, come into the state with something to prove.
Will Fiorina ever make it that far? She declined to indicate how she would pay for a massive military expansion, however. She is smart, and she knows what she is talking about. She has become a strong contender for the GOP nomination for president.
It wasn’t all business for Fiorina and Fallon on Monday. “If you want to win an issue go to the ballot box”.
