Tom Daley announces his engagement

It felt right, and I was like, “Oh ok”.

Tom has since spoken about how he thought his coming out was not “newsworthy”. The diver & television personality first disclosed his sexuality in December 2013, through a YouTube video.

The couple registered their engagement in The Times newspaper this morning (01.10.15).

Back in March, the couple marked their second anniversary by sharing sweet messages on Instagram.

“I’m still Tom”, Daley says in the video.

Tom added: “I typed “call me” in his notes with a smiley face on this phone and the next day he texted”. The pair previously said that they are not at all bothered by their 20-year age difference.

‘I also understand that it is still news. There are none to describe this loss.

‘Family is something that has always been really important to me and yes, at a few point I would love to marry and have kids’.

This has been a big year of milestones for these two: They moved in together in London just this past May!

The engagement comes over a year after Dustin relocated to London from Los Angeles to live with Tom. If not, we hope they tie the knot sooner than later! “I want to thank my mom who loved me for who I am even when there was pressure not to”. I have an very busy year ahead of me. “Thank you for making these past 2 years so special”, the caption read.

The Olympic diver, 21, took inspiration from Benedict Cumberbatch and subtly announced the exciting news by registering it in The Times.

He captioned the happy snap: “A day filled with History and Coffee”.
