Valon Behrami: Watford sign Hamburg midfielder
Watford have announced the signing of midfielder Valon Behrami on a three-year deal for an undisclosed fee reported to be around £3 million.
Watford have become Behrami’s fourth club in four and a half years, with relatively short spells in Italy with Fiorentina and Napoli before he moved to Germany to play in the Bundesliga.
The Switzerland worldwide returns to the Premier League after six seasons away – having left West Ham in January 2011 – and is the sixth new signing at Vicarage Road.
Watford have signed ex- Juventus defender Marco Motta this summer, and midfielder Etienne Capoue from Tottenham.
The 30-year-old midfielder was reportedly in London on Friday afternoon ready to undergo a medical at the newly-promoted Premier League outfit’s training ground.
Behrami watched some of his new team-mates playing against AFC Wimbledon in a pre-season friendly on Saturday.
Quique Sanchez Flores’ Watford were held to a 2-2 draw against the Dons, who converted a last-minute penalty.
