Bold bulldog scares bears from U.S
A 20-pound French bulldog scared off three bears who had wandered into the front yard of a California home.
Surveillance footage captured on Friday afternoon shows two bears scoping out the driveway of a house in Monrovia before being apprehended by a fierce munchkin of a creature-a 20 pound French bulldog named Jules, reports CBS L.A.
When two managed to make it into his garden in broad daylight, Jewels responded – running at the bears, which were five times her size, without hesitation, and barking at them until they fled.
“She blew me away, couldn’t believe that she turned into a Wolverine”, he told KCAL.
Hernandez said a wildfire in the area has affected the food supply in the the foothills for the bears – meaning more have been coming down in search of food. Jewels walked away unscathed and was given treats, a bath, and plenty of gratitude for her troubles. A third bear was on the balcony, just out of range of the camera. Hernandez says a few of his neighbors are even encouraging these visits by feeding them. No matter what kid of security system you have, you always need to be prepared for all scenarios – up to and including a pair of bears lurking around on your property.
