Pepsi flawless to be launched on famous date in Hollywood film
This is also happening, it turns out: Lots of movies.
Later this month, on October 21, 2015 to be exact, marks the day that Marty McFly and Doc Brown travel to in the future in Back to the Future II.
Pepsi will also celebrate the film at New York Comic Con this month at the Javits Center, sponsoring a Back to the Future II-themed panel discussion and even recreating a booth inspired by “Café ’80s”, featuring a DeLorean and even a Wild Gunman arcade game. Fans might have to be a little insane for Pepsi ideal because to buy the 16.9-ounce bottle (which, we’ll remind you, is filled with ordinary Pepsi), will cost you $20.15. And that can only mean one thing: Brands with any kind of connection to the 1980s film franchise are going to take advantage of it. The Pepsi flawless bottle will be a limited edition, with only 6,500 made.
“We’re fans of this popular trilogy, and just generally, if you work at Pepsi you’re fans of pop culture”. Check out the official Pepsi flawless commercial below! Sort of. There are a few other odd places the limited-edition bottles will be tossed out. “The “Back to the Future” trilogy was as big a moment in pop culture history then as it is now, 30 years later”.
If they really wanted to have fun and get more people in on the cool promotion, I don’t know why they don’t just release a huge load of Pepsi ideal bottles to be sold at stores.
Back to the Future’s Marty McFly is scheduled to arrive here – in the future – on October 21.
1,500 of the Pepsi flawless bottles will be at New York Comic Con, and fans dressed as Marty McFly can get it for free.
The Chicago Cubs as 2015’s World Series victor is still a long shot, but one prediction from Back to the Future II that’s now guaranteed to happen is “Pepsi flawless”. An ad for the drink has been released by PepsiCo and it’s got hoverboards and a dancing robot to boot.
