Woman is suing the City of Carlsbad after incident with police
The video captured an officer pulling down Hahn’s dress while getting her off the ground.
In July this year, the San Diego District Attorney dropped felony charges against Hahn for battery on a police officer and resisting arrest – which her attorney Mark Geragos says was due to the video.
Cindy says her son and daughter have also been traumatized by the experience.
“The one thing which typically he’ll seek advice from me about is, ‘I couldn’t shield you, Mom”.
A video from Cindy Hahn’s most “horrific day”, appears to show a Carlsbad cop slugging the screaming woman in front of her children, ages 7 and 11, as he and another cop struggled to pin her to the ground.
Hahn said she complained about the officer’s language.
When the second officer arrived, he can be seen driving a knee into her back and then punching her, all while her children were watching from Cindy’s auto. I possibly could have enabled you’. Minutes later, she says that officer stopped the van she was in for a seat belt violation and told her to get out of the van. “While she was being beaten and pummeled, Ms. Hahn was crying out for help”, her court documents said.
All criminal counts against Hahn were dismissed by the District Attorney’s Office reportedly after the office was presented the video evidence of the incident. Joined by another officer, they yanked her out of the vehicle and pinned her to the ground. She says the memory still haunts her.
DailyMail.com has contacted the Carlsbad Police Department for comment.
The city of Carlsbad issued the following statement: “The city of Carlsbad looks forward to bringing this lawsuit before the proper judicial authorities as soon as possible”.
She still plans on suing, however, and her father, a former police officer, said the lawsuit is justified.
Hahn’s dad, meanwhile, who is retired now from the San Fernando Police Department says he’s offended by these fellow officers.
She explains in about fleeting moments, he was in fact required to the land and assertions products risen further if dates happened.
The police department has not commented on the lawsuit. “I allowed at least one of the cops to testify to tell his story which we will charitably call lying, though a few would call perjury”. “Apparently the city of Carlsbad thinks that this is appropriate behavior because when we showed them the tape they just double downed on it, which is shocking to me”.
