Ford recalls F-150 pickups to fix cruise control braking
Dealers will inspect the vans, and if the brackets werent installed right, replace the axles. If they were correctly installed, customers will be offered a $300 discount on the price of an axle replacement.
Ford also recently stated that it would be recalling 37,000 Ford F-150 pickup trucks with the model year 2015 due to an adaptive cruise control issue.
The company said 58,858 Windstars sold in Canada and 283,413 sold in the United States were affected.
The company said a “small number of accidents” have been connected to the Windstar minivans, but no injuries.

In the Ford Windstar the automaker fears a rear axle may not be safe. Dealers are reportedly expected to update the software to correct the issue. The re-manufactured transmissions were built from June 11, 2015 to July 5, 2015. On 33,481 trucks equipped with adaptive cruise control, the sensors may decide to slow the vehicle or flash collision warnings when there is nothing in the lane ahead. The adaptive cruise control radar in the vehicle is created to automatically apply brakes as soon as it detects another vehicle in its lane.
Ford received a report of one accident that could be related to this issue; no injuries were reported.
“A brace inaccurately set up might restrict the performance of that recall fix work”, the business claimed, including that it has records of a handful of accidents associated with the concern however no injuries. Faulty shift lever brackets can do a similar injustice on 1477 brand-new Ford F-53 and F-59 truck chassis from the 2016 model year.

Ford says the shift control bracket might not have been made correctly and the defect allows reverse gear to be used without need of the brake pedal. Starting with the newest vehicles, the 2016 Fusion and Lincoln MKZ have been outfitted with fuel tanks that are prone to crack in a crash.
