Princess Leia ‘Slave’ Costume Sells For $96000 At Auction
We reported back in September that Princess Leia’s iconic gold bikini would be hitting an online auction, giving nerds everywhere the opportunity to crank up their fantasies to 11.
Auction house Profiles in History last month announced that it would feature several high-profile pieces of movie memorabilia, including Princess Leia’s famous slave costume from the Star Wars saga.
The golden bikini was worn by actor Carrie Fisher in a scene at Jabba the Hutt’s palace on the desert planet of Tatooine.
Carrie Fisher wore the metal outfit in Star Wars’ Episode VI-Return of the Jedi.
According to the auction listing, the bikini was made of “flexible, gold-painted red dense-urethane rubber”.
This Star Wars memorabilia might be in the running for the most expensive bikini ever sold, thanks to Star Wars’ Princess Leia.
The buyer was not named, but as part of the purchase price the buyer also receives the accompanying slave collar, a few chain links and a letter of authenticity signed by “Star Wars” costume designer Richard Miller.
The spaceship is the first craft seen in the Star Wars franchise and was sold for $450,000, having opened at $200,000.
However, if the price of the bikini was more than shocking to you all, it’s actually not the most expensive one that was auctioned! It airs on theatres this coming December.
