Malala marks 18th birthday by opening school for Syria girls
Mumbai: After a major goof-up of misspelling Nobel Peace Prize victor Malala Yousafzai’s name as “Masala” in a tweet past year, actor Jackky Bhagnani has come up with a video to wish the Pakistani activist on her birthday. The school will serve Syrian refugees, of which there are currently 1.2 million in Lebanon. She continued campaigning and won the Nobel in 2014.
Malala was flown to Britain for treatment after the Taliban tried to kill her in October 2012, and now lives permanently in Britain with her family.
The Malala Yousafzai All-Girls School will offer education and skills training to girls aged 14 to 18.
In her speech at the school, funded by the Malala Fund, she criticised world leaders for “failing” Syrian refugees, especially Syrian children.

The influx has placed strains on Lebanon, which has just four million citizens. A small moment for the education of girls in Swat Valley: “it is spreading now all over the world”, he said.
Moradabad, July 12 (ANI): Hundreds of students took part in a painting competition held in Uttar Pradesh to celebrate the 18th birth anniversary of child rights activist Malala Yousafzai. “In Lebanon as well as in Jordan, an increasing number of refugees are being turned back at the border”, Malala said. Drawing global attention to the tragedy, she believes that with the doubled effort, the girls will soon return home.
