Rock slide triggers Amtrak crash

Four people were hospitalized after the southbound train flew off the tracks and into a ditch 10 miles south of the state capital Montpelier at 10am.
I was asleep on the train when it derailed.

Lawrence Seiler of St. Albans, VT, said he and his wife have special needs, and it was hard moving from a train to a bus.
Those passengers who weren’t injured will be taken by school bus to Norwich University, where they will be given food and temporary housing.
Before the conference, Shumlin met and chatted with passengers. Shumlin said it did not appear the driver could have done anything to avoid the collision.
