F. Gary Gray To Direct Furious 8?
Published reports say Gray was also on the shortlist to direct Marvel’s “Black Panther“, but joined the Fast And Furious pit crew after a meeting with Vin Diesel. And Justin Lin, the director of movies 3-6, is busy with the next “Star Trek” movie. While this seems to hint that the eighth installment in the popular action series has found its helmer, Variety notes that the race is still very much on. Now, Diesel might have just revealed who will follow James Wan in the directors chair for Fast and Furious 8, though well still want to hold our excitement for an official confirmation.
Vin Diesel posted a photo to his Facebook page early Tuesday of him posing alongside Gray and a collage of framed Fast & Furious photos.
Star Vin Diesel has already been talking up the sequels in the wake of the release of Furious 7, with another trilogy of action planned.
If you look closely, you’ll see that they are sitting in front of a board with pictures from the popular franchise stuck on it.
Mark Sinclair on his real name has been on a public roller coaster lately as he kept on teasing everybody about who is going to be the next person to hold the wheel of the next Fast and Furious installment.
Wan did consider the proposition, but eventually passed, forcing the studio to begin searching for the franchise’s next director. Gray is of course coming off the global box office smash “Straight Outta Compton“. He would also handle the Brian O’connor issue with integrity, given that he and David Ayer were the ones who initially created that beloved character in the first place.
The directors will meet with Diesel later this week.
