Google Store now offering ASUS ZenWatch 2 for $149.99
For now it is only available in Google Play Store but it is said to get to other locations as well in the near future. There is a large bezel surrounding the display, but since the smartwatch is so cheap, you shouldn’t have high demands from the ZenWatch 2. Asus successfully cut down the battery size to fit inside the watch without losing too much power. The Google Store is offering the 45mm option with a rubber strap in Light Aqua, and the 49mm option with a leather strap in Navy Blue. The smaller variant can last up to 57 hours in ambient mode while the larger iteration can hold up to 56 hours in the same mode.
The sequel to the Zenwatch goes for a nice, low price of $149, perhaps because of its relative drawbacks despite a few minor improvements. The new magnetic charger will charge the battery up to 50 percent in 36 minutes, so this feature will be very useful when you’re on the run.
The smartwatch comes with an ovalish watch casing, that is 45mm and 49mm curved glass.
Asus announced the ZenWatch 2, the successor to the original ZenWatch, in June this year. It changes faces or reacts even when the user just accidentally brushes it against a railing. The ZenWatch 2 also has a smart assistant app that is native to the device and aims to give users a bit more timely information.
Now Asus, which has already released dozens of custom watch faces for its ZenWatch and ZenWatch 2 customers, has created its own custom watch face maker app.
While everyone else in the smartwatch industry is trying to make the most high-end option available, with golds and fine leathers and fancy boxes and circular displays, ASUS is quietly still making affordable options.
