Jurgen Klopp set to be in charge of Liverpool for Southampton’s visit

Liverpool‘s current Germany worldwide Emre Can told Die Welt that Klopp had what it takes to bring the glory days back to Anfield. Former Chelsea boss Carlo Ancelotti is also being linked but reports from Italy suggest he is also a target for his former club.

Liverpool sacked manager Brendan Rodgers after the Northern Irishman could only muster three wins in eleven games this season. Now insiders claim that the club wants a new boss ready in place by 10/17/15.

Liverpool chief executive Ian Ayre is liaising closely with the club’s United States-based ownership group – principal owner John W Henry, Reds chairman Tom Werner and FSG president Mike Gordon – over the recruitment process which they hope to have completed before the players return from the worldwide break next week.

Asked whether he thought an ex-Liverpool player should be included among Klopp’s backroom staff, Hamann, who has been linked with such a position himself, added: “I don’t think it is necessary, he is a very successful manager. I’m driving home now”, said Klopp, who has been on sabbatical since quitting Dortmund at the end of last season.

Steffan Effenberg, a friend of Klopp’s and a former German global, believes that he has been attracted to Liverpool because of the enormity of the task at hand. “I expect to see them continue to grow and develop over the coming weeks”.

Steven Gerrard and Jamie Carragher have been two of the names mentioned, but now Fowler has thrown his hat into the ring.

“The search for a new manager is underway”, was the only indication in a joint statement from the Liverpool FC owners on Sunday.

Heralded as one of English football’s brightest coaches, Rodgers was hired in June 2012 to revive one of England’s biggest clubs after a period of financial and ownership problems.

“I am always sad when that happens because I think he is a quality manager”.

“The people have lost faith in the team and it is important that someone comes who rouses the people again and gets things going”.

The club have said that they are “underway” in their process to find a replacement for Rodgers, but judging by this they may already be trying to tell us something.
