Victor Moses: Forward pulls out of Super Eagles October friendlies
The chairman of the Nigeria Football Federation Technical and Development Committee, Felix Anyansi-Agwu, has bemoaned the failure of the Belgian embassy in Nigeria to issue entry visas to six home-based Super Eagles players and officials who are expected to be in Belgium for the worldwide friendlies against DR Congo and Cameroon.
The friendlies are in preparation for the World Cup qualifier on November 9 against the winners of the fixtures between Swaziland and Djibouti.
Captain Vincent Enyeama, who buried his late mother on Saturday, joined his colleagues on Tuesday afternoon and took part in the team’s evening training session at the Battice FC training ground.
Earlier, Turkey-based defenseman Kenneth Omeruo was ruled from the double header in Belgium owing to a few hamstring injury.
In a letter to the Nigeria Football Federation Moses said he was pulling out in a precautionary move against injury.
The new Eagles will play their first game on October 8 against Congo in Vise and then slug it out with the indomitable lions of Cameroon in Dendermonde-Belgium, three days later. A Samuel Eto’o goal was cancelled by a magnificent Jay -Jay Okocha free -kick just before half -time, and a sublime Nwankwo Kanu pass was converted by John Utaka for the victor mid -way into the second half.
