Tom Hiddleston Clarifies Why Loki Wasn’t In ‘Age Of Ultron’
Tom Hiddleston’s performance is always a highlight in the Marvel movies. But basically, Kevin said – and I’m just going to tell you the truth, because it’s the cleanest way of doing it – in test screenings, audiences had over-emphasized Loki’s role. Indeed, director Joss Whedon has been quite vocal about his tussle to keep certain scenes in his Marvel hit, Avengers: Age Of Ultron.
That means Thor’s dream sequence could have been even more confusing. Because, after a test screening, audiences were left confused by Loki’s conclusion among the cast.
Since Ultron was the main villain, it made no sense to mislead fans by including Loki in a cameo and thus encouraging false expectations. That scene was ultimately dropped for reasons that went unspecified – until now. With the cave, they pointed a gun at the farm’s head and “Give us the cave”. In a civilized way – I respect these guys, but that’s when it got really unpleasant. He’s expected to appear prominently in 2017’s “Thor: Ragnarok” and in both parts of “Avengers: Infinity War“, slated for 2018 and 2019, respectively. I shot for a day and enjoyed it very much.
Hiddleston wasn’t bitter about his part being trimmed, however.
IB Times said the second ‘Avengers, ‘ like the first one, sets a pedestal role for future movies in the series to shape up the way Marvel wants them to.
