Mom and newly adopted son die after tragic medical accident; toddler rescued

The identities of the victims had not been officially released, but the woman was identified by a friend as Erika Tomassian. A 2-year-old was found alive, but very dehydrated.
Los Angeles police were called to the Hollywood apartment around 3 p.m. on Monday, October 5 after a anxious neighbor called 911.
The 1-year-old appeared to have “aspirated” on a few food and died, according to Jenal.
The body of the youngster’s one-year-old brother was found strapped into a chair nearby, KTLA reported.
Authorities said she was raising the boys alone.
Firefighters had to break in to the apartment.

Miss Tomassian was originally from Sydney, Australia, and moved to America where she worked as a marketing director at 7 Stars Production.
Tomassian had recently been treated for bronchitis and chest pains, and may have died from complications from the illness, according to police. A neighbor said she used to babysit Tomassian’s two adopted sons, Michael and Nathan. “They were kids, they were babies”.
