Jay Leno pranks Uber passengers
In what’s either a promotional stunt for his new CNBC series Jay Leno’s Garage or something that many thought was inevitable, Jay Leno will fill in for Jimmy Fallon on The Tonight Show.
Leno’s car-centric show used to be hosted only on the Internet, but it’s coming to CNBC starting Wednesday, October 7.
“Well, I asked Dave to do a 10-second tape for us [when I left]”, Leno said of his final run as host of NBC’s Tonight Show. A few rivalries never die.
Leno’s question to his passenger suggests, jokingly or otherwise, that he’s not ready to leave behind his infamous feud with Letterman, which erupted almost a quarter-century ago over who would replace Johnny Carson on “The Tonight Show“.
The Tonight Show airs at 11:35 p.m. You can see a preview of Leno’s appearance in the photos above and below.

And he’s cited the example of Jerry Seinfeld, whose web show “Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee” offers a fun, low-key way to keep in the spotlight without raising expectations of ever topping “Seinfeld”.
