Microsoft launches Surface 4 Pro, Surface Book
The company has managed to release their first ever laptop, as well as a brand new Microsoft Band – titled the Microsoft Band 2. There’s also an Nvidia GeForce GPU with GDDR5 memory but that is located in the base and will need the display kept docked to tap into its power.
Besides supporting touch input for Windows 10, the Surface Book has another advantage over Apple’s notebook offerings. It boasts a removable screen transforming the device into a tablet running Microsoft’s latest Operating system. But you can attach the screen from the keyboard and just it as a tablet, if you want.
Features: The Surface Pro 4 upgrades the tablet’s screen size to 12.3 inches on the diagonal without changing the device’s layout.
It’s a bold statement and one that now the company has only backed up through a live demo of Gears of War and then editing that footage moments later.
Aside from this the latest buzz also claims that the Microsoft Band 2 is now doing the rounds of online forums and might too soon announce the commercial launch of Microsoft’s Holo Lens.
The exact date and pricing in the United Kingdom is yet to be confirmed while for those who are in U.S., the Surface Pro 4 will start at 9 and it will be available from 26 October.
Even though we knew this announcement was coming, Microsoft’s new flagship phones still deserve a few attention because the Lumia 950 and Lumia 950XL are really powerful phones.
The Surface Book isn’t exactly a laptop – the top can be folded around and detached completely to work on its own as a tablet.
The first device to take the stage was Microsoft’s HoloLens virtual reality headset, which will make its way to a few developers early next year.
The new Lumia phones also have improved camera capabilities with a 20-megapixel sensor and triple LED flash. Microsoft also bragged that it’s the thinnest PC ever created.
When connected with a keyboard, mouse and an external display, the apps on your Windows Phone, which are the universal Windows 10 version of them, will adjust themselves to the external display to give you a more desktop-like feel when using them with the display. Powered by sixth-generation Intel processors with up to 12 hours of battery life, the Surface Book starts at $1,499.
Surface Pro 4 is 50 per cent faster than Apple’s MacBook Air, the company said.
Lumia 950 is speculated to feature a 5.2-inch QHD display, likely to run on Snapdragon 808 chip with 3GB RAM. Moreover, all devices may not be able to access all Windows 10 features. Pre-orders for the Surface Pro 4 can be made here later today. “Sporting a 13.5” screen, the Laptop comes with a resolution of 3000 x 2000 pixels and offers a choice of 8GB or 16GB RAM.
