Say Hello to the Surface Book, Microsoft’s Answer to Apple’s MacBook
The laptop too, like Surface Pro 4, offers multiple variants. The ultra-thin hinged laptop doubles as a tablet, features a removable keyboard and works with a touch, a “Pen” stylus or a mouse.
On the inside, the Surface Book has the latest Intel Core i5 and i7 processors, from the Skylake family and a Nvidia GeForce GPU with GDDR5 memory.
Microsoft Surface Book laptop will start at $1,499 and the company claims it to be twice as fast as Apple’s MacBook Pro.
Surface Pro 4 tablet may switch between a 13-inch display while the keyboard is attached onto it, and a 12-inch display while used as a stand-alone device.
Terry Myerson, chief of the Windows division at Microsoft, revealed that in the next few weeks, company partners would also present new devices running Windows 10 and the software giant will participate at all launches because it wants to support the entire ecosystem that’s based on its products. Although it’s not considered that Microsoft’s Band 4.0 would definitely appear on Windows 10 Operating system it is often predicted to join Windows 10 variety of items.
The Surface Book will be available from October 26, with pre-orders starting online from tomorrow. It also sports a better Type Cover (the keyboard that attaches to the display): it’s thinner and has a bigger trackpad (40 percent larger) than the Surface Pro 3. If you already have a Surface Pro 3, it may not be worth upgrading to the new Pro 4 unless you really find yourself looking for something a bit more powerful. The Surface Book should start from $2299.
The 950 and 950XL handsets feature a 20-megapixel rear camera, have up to 32GB of storage, 4K video and use liquid cooling technology. Its updated Surface Pen will have 1,024 levels of pressure sensitivity with a digital eraser on top, and the battery life for the pen will last a year, Panay said.
That’s no knock against the Surface Pro 4, though. Both are faster than their Apple counterparts, Microsoft executives said.
The long-awaited launch of the Lumia 950 series will take place in New York, as far as the reports go, the Lumia 950 will have a 5.2-inch display with 2560×1440 pixels of resolution and it will be fired-up by a hexa-core Snapdragon 808 processor.
