We swear those ‘Minions’ aren’t swearing — McDonald’s
Check it out for yourself. Parents are complaining that the McDonald’s toy Minions spew out vile sayings instead.
As part of the release of Minions, McDonald’s has launched a range of tie-in toys – but it appears they might be NSFW, let alone suitable for children.
So are they really being foul-mouthed or is it just certain ears and wishful thinking?
Ohio dad Taylor King told Fox 28: “I heard what it said and I’m like, ‘whoa, hang on here”.
“The allegation behind this toy using any offensive language, is not true and the phrase in question is a Minion’s laugh”.
Parents across the United States have gone on social media to discuss if the small, yellow toy says “what the f”. “Minionese” has no translation to, or meaning in any recognized language. “Any perceived similarities to words used within the English language is purely coincidental”, a McDonald’s spokesperson said.
“The Minion Caveman Happy Meal toy includes 3 sounds: “para la bukay, ‘ ‘hahaha, ‘ and ‘eh eh””, the company told the news site.
OAK BROOK, Ill. (KRON/AP) – a few parents are unhappy with a talking toy included in McDonald’s new Happy Meal. Others say the fuss will do more to spread the curse word than the toy itself.
What that Minion had to say immediately got Alexis Hernandez’s attention and it wasn’t something she wanted her 5-year-old daughter to hear.
We reached out to McDonald’s corporate offices, and they had a very precise explanation for what this Minion was saying, it’s even described in the toy’s wrapper.
“Our aim at McDonald’s is to serve up meals and enjoyable for our valued clients, and we’re glad to have the Minions on board”, the corporate stated.
Minions, a prequel of the Despicable Me films, premiered in cinemas last month.
