Windows 10 now running on more than 110 million devices
Yesterday at the event, Microsoft’s Terry Myerson announced that Windows 10 devices have now increased to a whopping 110 million.
The latest numbers from StatCounter, for example, pegged Edge as accounting for about 18% of the browser activity generated by Windows 10 in the United States of America during September.
With Microsoft Edge the new default browser in Windows 10 – and with 110 million installs – it would be reasonable to expect that Microsoft’s own web browser would be faring rather better.
On top of that, users have asked 1 billion questions to Windows 10’s new Siri-like digital assistant, Cortana, while users have visited the Windows 10 app store 1 billion times. In August, Microsoft announced that 75 million devices were running Windows 10 and now it has finally reached to its next big milestone. However, answering comments on its Facebook page, Microsoft has revealed that Windows 10 will be making its way to other devices in December.
He also confirmed that Facebook would be developing an entirely new suite of universal apps for the platform.
Spent more time in the Windows 10 Netflix app than on Netflix’s webpage. If this move is true, it would end the long standing inconvenience for Windows Mobile users, and allow them to use the services of Google on Microsoft’s Mobile OS.
The Microsoft event is ongoing; check back later for more. Those who don’t qualify for the free upgrade and are not covered by a volume license with Software Assurance can opt to buy Windows 10 Home for $119 and/or Windows 10 Pro for $199.
