Microsoft Unveils New Surface Pro 4 Type Cover
We’d be remiss if we also didn’t mention the new Type Cover, Surface Dock, and Windows Hello, the face recognition feature that makes use of the 5MP snapper on the front. The new laptop/hybrid is the latest from Microsoft and will be going head to head with Apple’s new iPad Pro.
According to Microsoft Surface Pro 4 is the “thinnest, most powerful” PC powered by Intel Core processors ever.
Microsoft claimed that the Surface Book “redefines everything you’d expect from a laptop”, and sees the firm setting its sights firmly on the MacBook Pro and Google Chromebook Pixel. That won’t be an issue as the options will run up to 1TB with the Microsoft Surface Pro 4.
The Surface Book will start at USD$1,499, and be available in the United States from October 26.
It includes sixth-generation Intel Skylake processors, an Nvidia GeForce GPU, GDDR5 RAM, two USB 3.0 ports, a backlit keyboard, a 12-hour battery and machined magnesium case. This smart frame will allow the device to change its size from 13-inches when docked into a keyboard or to shrink to 12-inches when the device is used as a tablet. Microsoft is freaking a lot about the new keyboard of the Surface Pro. Given that Microsoft’s line of Surface tablets is not yet available here yet, we wouldn’t get our hopes up.
Microsoft is updating its Windows tablet lineup with the launch of the Surface Pro 4, a faster version of the Surface Pro with a larger display and upgraded stylus. Last Tuesday on a press event, they confirmed after months of leaks and rumors, that Lumia 950 and Lumia 950XL were those mobile handsets that they will be releasing this coming November at reasonable prices of $549 and $649, respectively. Lumia 550 will begin rolling out in select European markets in December, with additional markets to follow. You can pre-order starting tomorrow, October 7th.
Overall, the new Microsoft devices look nice – if you’re fine running Windows 10.
