Tom Brady apparently paid practice squad players
Cowboys owner Jerry Jones expects Lee (concussion) to play against the Patriots on Sunday, the Dallas Morning News reports.
Brady summed up how he watched the weekend of National Football League games during his Monday morning interview with Dennis and Callahan of WEEI.
The game is slated for a Sunday afternoon at 4:25 p.m. start time and we should see the top announcing crew of Jim Nantz and Phil Simms on CBS on the call which will be broadcast locally on WBZ-TV.
Unfortunately, Lee was not the only one injured against New Orleans as running back Lance Dunbar tore his anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) and medial collateral ligament (MCL), which will keep him out for the remainder of the 2015 season.
Though he may have had scandal written all over him over the years, Brady still performs on the field completely unfazed. “For me, it’s all about moving forward and getting into my new team and focusing on what I have to do here”. The Cowboys need to do a good job of protecting their QB against the strong pass rush of the Patriots.
But the Cowboys, despite their injuries, have personnel that can cause problems – an excellent offensive line, unsafe receivers, and a fast, athletic defense. Prior to overtime, QB Brandon Weeden led Dallas to a 90-yard tying touchdown drive after what was a predominately lackluster game.
On the season, the Cowboys average 107.8 yards in passing and 256 yards in rushing. Murray now with the Eagles (you think he’d like to have a do-over?) lost the team a big runner as well. Only Brady and placekicker Stephen Gostkowski remain from that team, along with Belichick. But there were signs of progress against the Saints, particularly the 91-yard touchdown drive that tied the game in the fourth quarter with a 17-yard strike to Terrance Williams.
The offense is more limited with Weeden under center, which isn’t surprising.
Brady had the worst statistical game of his season in the 51-17 victory over the Jacksonville Jaguars, despite throwing for 358 yards with two touchdowns and no interceptions.
Brady has said multiple times he wants to play until he is 50 years old. He’s now 0-10 in career starts.
And if he falters this week, he may be looking at former Patriots backup Matt Cassel coming in on relief.
The New England Patriots were at risk of losing their franchise quarterback for up to four games, which included playing against Antonio Brown and a ferocious Buffalo defense on the road.
