Actor Randy Quaid says he could be deported next week
Immigration and Refugee Board spokesman Robert Gervais said Quaid will have a detention review hearing before a board member Thursday afternoon, a routine procedure that occurs typically within 48 hours of someone being detained.
Actor Randy Quaid has been arrested in Montreal for the second time this year, a spokesperson for the Immigration and Refugee Board of Canada told FOX411.
Randy Quaid was arrested Tuesday (Oct. 6) in Montreal Steve Rukavina and the CBC report.
The actor’s wife, Evi, told the news outlet that the actor was allegedly detained when he arrived for a regular check-in based on conditions he made following an April arrest.
A spokeswoman for the Canadian Border Services Agency (CBSA) could not immediately comment.
Quaid was previously released from a Montreal immigration detention center in May on a $10,000 bond. After being arrested for an unspecified incident on a street corner in Vancouver, they officially applied for Canada to take them in, saying they feared for their lives after the deaths of Quaid’s celebrity friends, including David Carradine and Heath Ledger.
The reasons for Quaid’s latest arrest were unclear.
The whole unusual saga of the Quaids and Canada began in 2010, when Randy and Evi sought refugee status with our polite northern neighbors after being charged with squatting in a California home.
Quaid’s wife, Evi, posted a profanity-ridden video on YouTube, in which she called out President Obama and the State Department for the warrants out for the couple. He was also nominated for a best supporting actor Oscar in 1973 for his role in “The Last Detail”.
