The Sherlock Victorian Special doesn’t have a firm release date, but is expected to air this December.

Sherlock fans quickly took to Twitter to express their excitement, with the Sherlock Countdown account declaring there were 79 days, 4 hours, 9 minutes and 43 seconds to wait.
“The special is its own thing”, Moffat said.

A first-look clip shown at Comic-Con in July had Holmes, Watson and Baker Street landlady Mrs. Hudson arguing about their roles in Watson’s books and why Watson had to grow the mustache.
“It’s like we checked the books and discovered we’d set it in the wrong time period by mistake and it’s like we’re correcting it for 90 minutes”, Steven Moffat, executive producer and co-creator, previously told BBC News.
