The Flash Season 2 Episode 1 spoilers: New premiere to feature Zoom?
The Flash season 2 premiere starts right where season one ended: Barry traveling towards a wormhole to save Central City. Their pairing is reminiscent of the iconic Flash of Two Worlds! published in Flash #123 in September 1961 which had Barry Allen cross paths with Garrick, establishing the concept of “multi-verses” in DC. But did Ronnie really die?
That’s also according to Gustin, who plays Barry Allen. Wells kidnaps Eddie and reveals his status as a time-traveler.
Comingsoon.net reported “The Flash” Season 2 will welcome newcomers Teddy Sears as Jay Garrick, Shantel VanSanten as Patty Spivot, Keiynan Lonsdale as Wally West, Demore Barnes as Tokamak, Violett Beane as Jesse Quick and Tony Todd as the voice of the new villain, Zoom. He’s quite good at it. But that’s not really a surprise, considering what a sadistic jackass he played during the last several years of his wrestling career. Barry confirms that it’s not Grodd to Joe’s relief. Flash Day, or Central City’s day of celebrating The Flash, has always been a reoccurring subject in the comics and animated shows. “Meanwhile, Cisco helps Joe with his Meta Task Force”. Cisco is in charge of developing a boot to help regular officers fight crime.
“Reverse Flash felt like a warrior, and what we wanted this time was something more akin to a monster”. Also, the angst did lead to a drunken night of karaoke with Caitlin, for which we can all be thankful. But instead Ronnie was empowered and fused with another scientist, Dr. Martin Stein (Victor Garber). They needed to join together, then, separate in the eye of the black hole as the Flash had it contained. “That’s why I am honored to present the key to the man who saved Central City, The Flash“. Everyone’s meta-human powers manifest at certain times.
The villain in his final moments told Barry that he sought to kill him as part of a deal with Zoom. Suddenly a hotdog stand comes hurling in the air and the Flash saves the mayor.
The Atom Smasher makes an appearance and fights with Barry in the premiere.
IGN: Atom Smasher has his face covered much of the time. How would it hinder Barry to have his father there to encourage him? She insists that she and everyone else kept pushing him away when they need to stop asking questions and act.
Caitlin, now on her own, works at Mercury Labs, which was seen on the show during the first season. He’s like the older brother who went to college and is coming back. How does Barry feel about his arrival?
Dr. Wells leaves a living will for Barry. Having pursued what amounted to an “It takes a village” mentality – with a whole lot of people helping him and in on his secret – he’s newly determined to go it alone, hoping to spare those close to him from being put in harm’s way.
