Brazil Legend Cafu Sings the Praises of Liverpool’s Jon Flanagan…Again
Former Brazilian right-back Cafu has praised Jon Flanagan once again, and has said he can become one of “best full-backs in the world” at Liverpool.
Cafu first noticed the young full-backs talent during the 2013-14 season, when Liverpool launched a title challenge, with youngster Flanagan playing a crucial role at left-back, netting his first goal in the 5-0 win against Spurs.
During that run, the real Cafu regularly took to Twitter to express his appreciation for Flanagan, whose performances had earned him the nickname “Scouse Cafu” from Kopites.
We wouldn’t like to point at one of the world’s best ever players and say he’s wrong but it’s extremely hard in this situation…
He’s now done an interview with FourFourTwo magazine, with the Liverpool Echo reporting a few quotes from the November edition when Cafu was asked if he was really a fan of Flanagan.
“We had lunch and took a few pictures together”.
Former Brazil worldwide Cafu has claimed that Liverpool defender Jon Flanagan can go on to be one of the best full-backs in world football.
That doesn’t seem to have bothered Cafu though, who remains a big fan of Flanagan’s ability.
Cafu also wishes he could have played in the Premier League during his career, adding: “I would have loved to play for Liverpool, Manchester United or Chelsea”.
The 22-year-old has been injured since the end of that season and recurrent knee injuries have prevented him from featuring for the Anfield side.
