Destiny: The first step in getting the Sleeper Simulant starts today
Today marks the start of what looks to be the beginnings of missions that will hopefully lead to rebuilding the Sleeper Simulant, one of The Taken King’s most striking Exotic Fusion Rifles that also happens to take up your Heavy Weapon slot.
Yesterday’s quest to begin the unlock process, The First Firewall, is reportedly no longer available – it is likely to return at a later date.
You only have 4 minutes to complete this mission so if possible, we recommend sprinting past all of the enemies without stopping If you find yourself dying, try using a sword or shotgun to quickly clear the path and keep moving. The Sleeper Simulant questline is now accessible, so if you’ve been deciphering hidden codes, searching for secret rooms, and coming up empty handed, your search is nearlyover.
Completing it nets you a “Curious Transponder” item which requires a set of passcodes that then takes you to the Cayde’s Stash mission which must be finished in order to gain the IKELOS Fusion Core. We suggest breaking down something from Year 2 just to be safe, however, we have heard that Year 1 items will complete the objective as well.
You can now get The Sleeper Stirs quest from Banshee. You can activate all five of these nodes by fulfilling certain requirements.
Once you have completed that, you will get an item called the Curious Transceiver.
After you’ve entered the correct sequences, the Curious Transceiver will now be broadcasting which initiates a mission called, “Shadow Call” on Earth. The Sleeper Simulant is your reward.
Once you’ve taken out all four waves of knights, a boss will spawn. From there, you’ll need to assemble the IKELOS Fusion Core.
Sleeper Simulant’s design and manufacture has links to Destiny’s mysterious Rasputin warmind – a defense AI invited to protect Earth that has popped up in a number of story missions.
Dismantle any Legendary heavy weapon. To get the Plasma Confinement Control Modules, you will need to defend three different Warsats in the Cosmodrome, Moon, and Mars public events. If you don’t see The First Firewall on your map, you probably need to turn in more DVALIN fusion rifle relics. You will need to track down a new relic on Earth for this temporary mission which entails you to do a repeat performance of the platform jumping you did in the original Taken King quest – only this time you’ll be under time constraints.
