Surface Pro 4, Surface Book, Microsoft Band 2, Lumia — New Microsoft devices
Despite its budget price the quad-core Snapdragon processor and 1GB of RAM will be capable of handling everyday tasks, while the 2100mAh battery should keep you going all day long. On the front, you’ve got a wide-angle 5-megapixel front-facing camera.
The base model of the Surface Pro 4 costs $899 (Rs 58,000 approx.).
But one of the biggest drawcard for the Surface Pro 4 is that it’s 50 percent more powerful than the MacBook Air, according to Microsoft.
The company also launched the new Surface Book laptop with 13.5-inch display which can be seen as competition to the new Apple tablet. The laptop too, like Surface Pro 4, offers multiple variants. It has the latest Intel Core i5 and i7 processors, from the Skylake family.
As a laptop, it looks like a premium device with a machined aluminium chassis, and Microsoft claimed that this is the fastest 13in laptop which has ever been made. Previously, we heard that Windows 10 would be rolled out to existing Windows Phone 8.x devices starting November, but we’re not sure about that anymore. Since the tablet-laptop hybrid is designed for note-taking, it comes with an upgraded Surface Pen which works well with the touchscreen display not only when writing, but also when erasing, all thanks to its eraser top. The keyboard quay has 2 USB 3.0 ports and a card reader.
The Surface Book will boast 12 hours of battery life and Microsoft says there is no drain at all when in sleep mode. The newest Pro has a smaller screen and is lighter then the Pro 3, but will feature redesigned type cover keys and a fingerprint scanner. “For phones, Windows 10 will arrive later this year – both on new devices and upgrades for existing Windows Phone 8.1 devices”. What makes the Surface Book special is its functionality.
The Microsoft Surface Pro 4 will be available on 26th October from £750, with prices rising to £1799 depending on RAM and storage configurations.
