Frank Zappa’s Wife Dies at 70
The Zappa family confirmed the passing to TMZ, adding that she died on Wednesday afternoon in Los Angeles and that she was reportedly battling an illness for many years.

In his autobiography, The Real Frank Zappa Book, the artist called her a “fascinating little vixen”, with whom “it took a couple of minutes, but I fell (don’t laugh) in love”. While the cause of death was not released, they said that she had been ill for a few time.
The statement concludes, “Gail will forever be identified as a key figure in the creative renaissance that is Laurel Canyon”. She toured with Frank, and supported every endeavor he pursued, including his music, art, and film projects. There also is not any news yet on what funeral arrangements will be made for Frank’s widow. The pair married when she was 22 years old, and pregnant with son Dweezil. “f*** the nurse if she didn’t like it”.
In his autobiography, Frank Zappa called Gail his “best friend”.
