McDonald’s gets complaints that new toy says curse words
“I heard what it said and I’m like, ‘Whoa, hang on here, ‘” Taylor King, who bought a Happy Meal for his 3-year-old son, told Fox28 in Columbus, Ohio.
The toys are given to coincide with the third movie in the Despicable Me series, this one focusing entirely on the yellow and badly behaved sidekicks known as Minions.
Those pesky little Minions are up to no good once again. Although there are a range of different Minions characters to collect, it is the caveman minion which is under scrutiny.
“The allegation behind this toy using any offensive language, is not true and the phrase in question is a Minion’s laugh”.
“Its really bad. I think it says the f-word”, said Mary Sutherlin. “The brain tries to find a pattern match, even when just receiving noise, and it is good at pattern recognition”, says Dr. Steven Novella, a neurologist at the Yale School of Medicine.
“We was wanting to see that movie so now I’m curious if it’s going to be cussing in the movie”. The toy reportedly says “para la bukay”, “hahaha” and “eh eh”. “‘Minionese” has no translation to, or meaning in, any recognized language. Any perceived similarities to words used within the english language are purely coincidental.’.
And theyve done this all with a McDonalds toy, which a few parents insist utters a rather expletive word.
When he bounced it to make it talk, he clearly heard what sounded like “What the f***?”
A McDonald’s Spokesperson said: “A small number of customers have been in touch regarding this issue and we are in contact with those who have shown concern”.
“””(They should) check their toys before they hand them over”, Merten said.
